THE TERRACES OF MORAY AND SALT MINES OF MARAS
During the development of this traditional circuit we’ll visit two of the most unique places in Cusco: The salt mines of Maras and the Inca terraces of Moray where you’ll learn much more about the way of life of the Maras residents and the knowledge about farming techniques that the Inkas had.
Our host, the guide and our transport will go to your accommodation to pick you up and go as first point to the town of Maras, a place where we’ll find a source of salt water from which salt is obtained by the evaporation process, which it is a resource that serves as a livelihood for local people. Here you will receive an explanation about the most outstanding data of the place, then you will have time to take the corresponding photos. Later we’ll continue the journey and arrive at the archaeological site of Moray, which was an important Inka construction oriented to agriculture. Here you will also receive an explanation from the guide and you can take your time to explore it on your own. Finally, you will board the transportation that will be waiting for you to return to Cusco.
