SACRED VALLEY AND CONNECTION TO MACHUPICCHU
2 DAYS / 1 NIGHT
This is a better designed tour that combines the visit two of the most emblematic places in Cusco: The Sacred Valley and Machupicchu. In the Sacred Valley, the tour includes the traditional villages of Pisac and Ollantaytambo with their archaeological centers, then you’ll board the train to Machupicchu pueblo, where the next day, after a restful sleep you’ll explore Machupicchu with your private tour guide.
DAY 1: CUSCO – SACRED VALLEY MACHUPICCHU CONNECTION
At approximately 8:00 a.m., we’ll pick you up to go toward to the sacred valley of the Inkas, half way we’ll stop to visit the Awanakancha, where we’ll appreciate the development of traditional textile with ancestral techniques, then continuing our trip toward the town of Pisac, where we’ll visit its local market and archaeological center, here you’ll appreciate the traditional terraces on the hillside meant for cropping, you will also find ceremonial baths, a residential settlement, and the largest known Inca cemetery.
After this journey, we’ll go to the town of Urubamba, where we’ll have time for lunch at a touristic restaurant of your choice. After having lunch, we’ll continue our journey toward the town of Ollantaytambo and its archaeological center. Here you’ll find a series of overlapping terraces, showing the impressive and large blocks of stone finely carved and located on the upper terrace. After having finished the tour, we’ll go to the station where you’ll board the train that will take you to the town of Machupicchu pueblo, where you’ll stay in your booked hotel..
DAY 2: MACHUPICCHU FULL DAY
Next day, at the agreed time, you’ have to board the bus that will take you to the Machupicchu Sanctuary, it will take approximately 30 minutes to the main access above the mountain.Here is where our guided tour starts and will last for 2 hours approximately, telling the stories of the place and showing the most important enclosures and sectors of the Inka citadel such as the Temple of the Sun, the Intiwatana, the Temple of the Condor, are the best thing you’ll have during our visit. After the guided tour in Machupicchu, you’ll have free time to explore and take pictures on your own.
Then at a prudent hour you’ll board the return bus to have lunch at a local restaurant and wait for return train to Ollantaytambo.
Finally, you will have to be 30 minutes before at the train station to board the train to Ollantaytambo, where private transportation will be waiting for you to return to your hotel in Cusco.
