3 DAYS / 2 NIGHTS
Get ready for three days full of culture and history! Visiting two of the most traditional tourist circuits of Cusco as a prelude to Machupicchu. The first day we will visit Cusco and surroundings, this is the famous “City tour” and will begin with a visit to the Qorikancha temple which is located in the same city. To continue with the magic of this city we will get going to the country side of the city, where we will find a group of the archeological centers rich in history, tradition and meaning to the Inkas’s cosmovision: Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, Tambomachay and Puca Pucara.
The experience continues! Next day we will take you to the circuit of the Sacred Valley, we will make a stop at Awanakancha, a place where you can find the most beautiful piece made of Alpaca fiber .After visiting Pisac we’ll continue to Ollantaytambo, this is where we will help you board the train that will take you to our most wanted and final destination: Machupicchu Pueblo.
After a long journey, the only you we’ll want is to rest. We’ll have a restfull sleep at the hotel. We need to get as much energy as we can, so next day we are ready for visiting one of the seven wonders of the world : Machu Picchu.
DAY 1: CUSCO AND SURROUNDINGS “CITY TOUR”
Let’s journey around the city!
We will pick you up from your accommodation and while walking we will stop by some interesting places on our way to the Plaza de Armas, if your hotel is far from the center we will pick you up with our own transportation, it will not be necessary to walk.
In Plaza de Armas, you will listen to a detailed explanation about its history, then we continue on foot to the Temple of the Qorikancha or Temple of the Sun, here you are going to take a look at one of the finest stone constructions made by the Incas in honor of their gods. After that, we will board our transport to get away from the city and go to the Archaeological Center of Sacsayhuaman. Here, from the top of this place you will get an amazing view of the city and observe the astonishing constructions in stone, witnesses of the glorious Inka past. Then we will go to Qenqo, Puca Pucara and Tambomachay, where our guide will explain a bit of history in each archaeological center.
DAY 2: SACRED VALLEY
The fertile valley of the Inkas awaits for you !
Our second day will start early at approximately 9 am, we will pick you up from your accommodation in our private transport to go to Awanakancha, a project run by local people, where you can see a variety of llamas, alpacas and vicuñas where you can feed them, you will be a witness of the traditional ancestral textile manufacturing techniques. Then we will continue our journey to the town of Pisac, where we visit its local market, here you can get nice souvenirs and then visit the Archaeological Center which is located on the hillside overlooking the town, then continue the route and we will a stop in Urubamba, halfway between Pisac and Ollantaytambo to have lunch at a local restaurant. Continuing with our trip, we will arrive at the town of Ollantaytambo, an Inka village trapped in time that evokes the past, we will walk through its streets and then we will go to the archaeological Center, here you will find a series of overlapping terraces, showing the impressive and large stone blocks finely carved and located in the upper terraces, once the tour is over, we will go to the station, where you will board the train to go to the town of Machupicchu ,”Aguas Calientes”, where you will settle in your hotel previously booked, and then enjoy a dinner in one of village restaurant.
DAY 3: MACHUPICCHU FULL DAY.
The next day, according to our schedule, you will go to the bus station that will transport you to the Machu Picchu Sanctuary, it’ll take approximately 30 minutes to get to the main access at the top of the mountain; here, the guide will begin 2-hour tour of approximately 2 hours around the Sanctuary, telling you the stories of the place, showing you the most important enclosures and areas of the Inka citadel like the Temple of the Sun, the Intiwatana, the Temple of the Condor, etc. After our guided visit, you will have free time to explore around and take pictures on your own.
The mysticism of the place will embrace you, but be careful because boarding the bus will be key to get to the bottom of the mountain to enjoy a delicious meal.
It’s almost the end of our adventure, it’s vital to get to the train station 30 minutes before your departure to Ollantaytambo. Once you arrive in Ollataytambo, our private transportation will take you back your accommodation in Cusco.
